    Design and implementation of measured stratigraphic profile data publishing system based on WebGIS

    • Large amount of geological data are achieved in geological survey and mineral exploration projects of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and these need unified management and effective sharing for servicing the economic and social development in this underdevelopment area of China. The Web publishing system for measured stratigraphic profile can exhibit and release spatial distribution characteristics and geological data in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau based on WebGIS technology. We can visualize the major information of measured stratigraphic profile in completed projects by this system, including location, measured strata, length, production entity, date, profile, and even rock characteristics, fossil species, and strata thickness. The Web publishing system provides services of retrieval and query, map browsing and print, and introduction of related geological background.
